Hair extensions are a fabulous way to instantly transform your look or up-date your style. The art of hair extensions is to keep them looking natural.
What extension system do you use?
MG At my salon we use a range of different extensions and methods and will match them to the individual client's needs. The bonds are individually moulded, so the size and blend of colours can be changed every time. With a whole head of extensions, for example, darker colours can be placed underneath graduating to lighter on top for a totally natural look. Our cold bonding method is quick and easy to apply and lasts up to 6 weeks.
Do you always offer whole heads?
MG As we work with extensions all-day, every-day we have a fantastic specialist knowledge. Increasingly we are using partial extensions - that's to say just a few well-placed extensions - to create a totally different look or to up-date a hairstyle. Experince teaches you the right amount of hair to use. Too little and it wont look convincing, too much and it will appear too think and false. A lot of the skill is down to the blending and cutting afterwards.
Will extensions be right for me?
MG Hair extensions are a commitment and need careful consideration. You need to have time to look after long hair. At the Michelle Griffin salon we will spend time with you, understanding your expectations, asking about your lifestyle and how much time you spend on your hair; making sure that extensions are right for you. Then we will continue to look after you once their applied. It's in our interests to ensure your extensions always look their best.
Are extensions easy to look after?
MG Working with real hair extensions means they can be treated pretty much the same as your own. You can wash them and style them. There are a few simple techniques you need to learn about separating the bonds and being careful when you brush the hair, but it's all very straightforward. What is important is that you use the right products and come back to the salon for regular maintenance visits.
