13/11/2009 - Michelle Griffin Local Business of the Year
Dragon’s Den’s Theo Paphitis quoted: ‘I know how hard it is to make a success of a business. What we see here today are truly remarkable people making a great positive change to the world through their business.’
Melanie Hillier, who nominated Michelle, said: "I feel she deserves something back for all the hard work she has put in. The salon is outstanding, as is the customer service and nothing is too much trouble. They even give me an umbrella when it\\\\\\\'s raining and take my shopping to the car after I\\\\\\\'ve had my hair done."
The judges said about Michelle Griffin: "The entrepreneurial spirit in both the plans for the business, and the approach to fundraising ideas won out. We really like the commitment Michelle has to her local community - 22 years established, going strong and a regular supporter of local young people with work experience and training”.
